Compact watch knowledge

Anyone who is enthusiastic about watches will soon come across terms such as chronograph or power reserve. But what is behind them? Here are the basics - explained clearly.

Chronograph
A watch with a stop function. Recognisable by the additional pushers and small sub-dials - sporty and functional at the same time.

Automatic
A mechanical watch that winds itself by moving the wrist - no need to change the battery.

Power reserve
Indicates how long the watch will continue to run without winding - the higher the power reserve, the more practical.

Sapphire crystal
Extremely scratch-resistant watch glass - particularly high-quality and durable. Ideal for everyday use.

Water resistance
Not every ‘Water Resistant’ watch is suitable for swimming. Pay attention to bar specifications - and have them checked regularly.

More watch knowledge, technology & accessories can be found regularly here on our blog - only for real time lovers.
